Okay, it's that time again... Jen's feeling cut off and out of touch with people, so I have a small request: if you're reading this, leave me a comment. Just say Hi, or tell me what you ate for breakfast, or what is the hot new TV show in the States, what weird new celebrity baby name is popular now, what stupid song on the radio is driving you nuts...
It's very easy: click on the link below where it says "comments," then type something in the white box, click "Other" and type in your name, then ENTER. Very simple.
As a reward for your efforts, I offer some workplace distraction in the form of Monk-E-Mail. Enjoy. :)

Jen, you're where you're supposed to be--your gifts fit too well for it not to be so. And you're still in our thoughts!
The connections you make with people don't fade as easily as geography. Never have, never will.
Hi Jen...I had a craving for some kepta duona the other day... there's just nothing quite as delightfully greasy here in the States!
Another frustrating thing about America: Season 6 of 24 doesn't start until January. I was certain that drug would be available during the new fall line-up. Oh, Jack Bauer, I miss you!
Speaking of...here's a funny thing I found about our favorite hero...The city of Los Angeles once named a street after Jack Bauer in gratitude for his saving the city several times. They had to rename it after people kept dying when they tried to cross the street. No one crosses Jack Bauer and lives.
p.s. I finally got my act together and have a blog. www.blankverses.blogspot.com
Enjoy! Sarah*
Hello my friend!
So I must first say that I LOVE Sarah's Jack Bauer story above!
You asked for random, so let there be random:
* I can't tell you how many times I've seen wildlife/livestock and thought, "He looks delicious!"...but in *your* voice
* Emmit Smith will be representing the NFL on the new season of Dancing With The Stars! (He's no Jerry Rice...but it should be fun.
* And in other sports news...the CO Rockies are seriously slumping. The worst batter (in all of MLB) decided to bat left-handed (for the first time ever in a game) and went 2 for 2 against our Rockies!
Have a lovely day Jen!
Love,
Lys
Jen - I check your blog weekly. I'm so sorry I don't write more often...or at all! My life is quite a bit different than it was 6 months ago. I will have to write a letter explaining everything!
Thinking about you often,
Carrie
Jen,
Apparently magicians are popular. The Illusionist with Ed Norton and Paul Giamatti is playing in Uptown now. The Prestige with Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman comes out in October, I think. And, the UK is filming a movie called Magicians with Tom Hollander.

P.S. I had Eggo waffles, yogurt, and a piece of toast for breakfast.
Hello Jen,
I'm not sure if I have ever left a message on here before, though I have read your blog start to finish! Now as your future sister, I feel I am no longer some random stranger reading your blog and have earned the right to post!
A little warning, this will be a random message, as I will be typing whatever I can think of to catch you up on my life.
Today's breakfast was interesting as we were out of eggs and milk, both staples to most of my breakfasts. So Joel and I experimented and made a banana smoothie and replaced the milk with a serving of strawberry yogurt... it was not as good but still edible.
Now Joel and I are both sitting on our Macs at my sisters kitchen table. Me slaving away addressing wedding invites, and he is coding in some language foreign to me in order to create yet another website.
Yesterday Joel and I went to the Renaissance Festival. It was really fun, especially because a friend gave us two tickets as an early wedding present.
We found a place to live as well. It is a condo just a few miles from Bethel of of silver lake road. I will be moving in next week. A good friend of mine is going to live with me until Joel and I get married. Joel and I have had a good time going to thrift stores and garage sales finding stuff to furnish and decorate the condo with.
Wedding plans are coming along. Joel has been so helpful I can't imagine doing this without his help. All of the big things are taken care of. after getting these invites in the mail (Joel designed them by the way) we will only be left planning the details basically.
The wedding is only 69 days away! Crazy, but exciting. I look forward to devoting my attention and time to other things than planning a wedding that is for sure! I also hope the stressful dreams go away! My sister even had a weird dream about my wedding last night! Yikes.
Okay, I better get back to the invites. I love you, and think of you often.
Praying for you sister and hoping you are well,
Olivia Joy
English muffin with honey, eaten in the car on the way to church.
love and hugs :)
Breakfast? Huh?
Oh! You spell it differently than I do.
I spell it c-o-f-f-e-e.
Did you know that a large portion of the most popular French singers are Quebecois? The French ridicule them for their accent, but love their singing.
I know that's not about America, but I'm as clueless as you are on that front these days.
Annie.
I was amused by your Monk-E-Mail link...I thought, "sure, I will send an e-card."
But I came to learn that the Monk-E-Mail was a little like handing me some crack. I took a hit, then I thought, "just one more!"
And soon I could no longer count the number of monkey combos I'd created and sent out into the inboxes of friends and family!

Haven't checked the blog in awhile, so here's the late news... breakfast was yogurt on the good ol' bus to the People's Republic of Boulder for my first day of school. I made it through but am definitely stricken with that overwhelmed feeling... you know the one. Saturday I put in a good ten hours with Jane Eyre in preparation for four months of books which make me want to be a waitress for life.
The favourite show of the circus--err, news--media lately has been "Guess who killed Jon Benet Ramsey?" Only today did we discover that her alleged killer has the wrong DNA, so it looks like only two weeks of repititious wrap-up instead of two months of celebrity court TV. If you can't get the news in Yankee English... count your blessings.
Actually, I was a bit shook up the other day by a plane crash in Kentucky... in the exact model of airplane I used to fly in, at an airport (Lexington) I've frequented, and killing a pilot I met on a long layover in Indiana. Freaky, no? I'm praying for the families and co-workers when I think of it...
Well, none of that is news that's really fit to print. We missed you on Sunday at G-ma and G-pa's 66th anniversary bash (during which Grandma fell asleep three times). But don't worry, well all see you again soon!
Love you!
Krissy
Well, I may be a little late to the party, but I just have to throw in this celebrity tidbit--I just saw the pictures of Suri Cruise (Tom & Katie's baby) and she is incredibly adorable. Seriously, a very cute baby!
Also, Jen, I needed to pass on that Mark and I moved! Our new address is 1418 30th Ave. Greeley CO 80634.
We think of you often, and I am amazed at the work you do. Carry on!

Yoours is the only blog I ever look at, and I am captivated every time. This time I forwarded it to Faith Durham, who is our "missionary" in Paris (once she raises her support.) I am sure your folks would remember the Durham family at First Baptist. I also was delighted to learn of another good church in Minneapolis. Our grandson has just moved to St. Paul and we are praying him into a good church. He is a Phi Beta Kappa grad of U. of Wisc. in Milwaukee. What could be worse?? PRAYERS, Jen.
