What can I say? I needed a break, and eighteen months seems about right. For reasons I'll probably go into in upcoming posts, it has been hard to write this past year. But I've missed it, and I've missed the discipline of putting my random thoughts on paper (or screen), and I've missed feeling like that what I'm wrestling with might be of use to others who'd read it.

So I'm back. At first I thought about starting a completely new site - no more "lithuaniaJen" (I kinda want to be done with that name anyway) - but I think it's important to look backwards at who I have been and what I've written here, and to try to bring something coherent to life. We'll see how it goes.

Welcome back old readers and welcome new ones. More importantly, welcome back to my writer-self. She has been in hiding too long.
